Set up your yard

Enter your lot's width and depth in feet. The fence, grid and overall dimensions draw themselves, so everything you place is at real scale.

Drag in your pool

Rectangles, lap pools, kidneys, freeform lagoons — plus spas, sun shelves and steps that snap onto the pool edge. Resize and rotate anything, and measure gaps to the fence.

Export your plan

Download a labeled PNG site plan with pool dimensions and water area, print it, or save the design file and pick it up later.

Is Free Pool Design really free?

Yes. The pool layout planner is free to use, with every shape and item included. No trial, no watermark on your exports, no account.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. It runs entirely in your browser — open the designer and start dragging. Your work autosaves locally on your device.

Can I plan my whole backyard, not just the pool?

Yes. Alongside pools and spas you get hardscape, pergolas and pavilions, outdoor kitchens, saunas, fire pits, furniture, trees and fencing — so the pool is planned in the context of the yard it lives in.

How accurate are the plans?

Everything is drawn to scale in feet — item sizes, snapping, dimension lines and distance-to-fence measurements. It's a planning tool for layout and feasibility; your pool builder will produce the engineering drawings for permits and construction.

Can I save or share my design?

Export a labeled PNG site plan to share or print, or download the design file (.json) and re-import it any time to keep refining.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes — touch dragging and pinch-to-zoom are built in. For big yards a laptop screen is the comfortable way to design your pool online, but phones work fine for tweaks.
